Colorguard
Justin Madrid is the colorguard director at Lone Star High School. Originally from Odessa, TX Mr. Madrid currently resides in Dallas, TX. Madrid has been teaching, designing, and choreographing for marching band and winter guard programs throughout the state for the past 8 years which include Odessa High School, Denver City High School, Midland Lee High school, and many more schools in West Texas. More currently, he has been an instructor and choreographer at Melissa High School for three years. In these three years, Melissa has made finals at the WGI Tulsa and San Antonio regionals, and was a National A silver medalist. They also performed in finals at Alamodome in San Antonio, TX for the UIL State Marching Contest 2 times. Madrid has traveled to Costa Rica to design for Banda Municipal de Zarcero Winterguard for the 2020 season. He is currently one of the co-founders of Girasol Winterguard in Costa Rica, the first independent group open to the entire country. Most currently, Madrid was a director of Lakeview Centennial High School, with the guard earning many awards during this time. As a performer, Madrid was a WGI silver medalist in 2018 with CGT Denton, and is a 3-time world class finalist with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Madrid is more than excited to grow the Colorguard program at Lone Star High School!
